Californians Receive Inflation Relief

To assist offset the rising cost of gas and other commodities, millions of Californian 

Since the framework for the state budget for 2022–2023 was agreed upon by California 

Governor Gavin Newsom and legislative leaders, the funds will shortly be disbursed.

A $17 billion inflation relief program could provide payouts of up to $1,050 to almost 23 

million qualified Californians. The offer comes as drivers in California contend with 

the highest petrol costs in the country; about 30% more expensive than the national 

average. Both Georgia and Maryland have enacted legislation to halt their states' gas levies.
