Actor and comedian Gilbert Gottfried was known for his shrill voice and often crude humor.

We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our beloved Gilbert Gottfried after a long illness.

His family posted on his verified Twitter account.


Gottfried's longtime friend and publicist Glenn Schwartz told that Gottfried died Tuesday afternoon 

from recurrent ventricular tachycardia due to myotonic dystrophy type II.

Gottfried gave voice to Disney's animated movie “Aladdin” character parrot.

Gottfried is survived by his wife, Dara Kravitz, and two children, Lily and Max.

Hollywood actors and comedians including Jason Alexander, and Dane Cook paid tribute to Gilbert Gottfried.
