Kim Kardashian has been accused of damaging Marilyn Monroe's legendary gown.
Ripley's Believe It or Not! rejects that Kim Kardashian's wearing of the legendary Marilyn
Monroe "Happy Birthday" gown caused significant harm to it. The garment was allegedly ruined
after its appearance at the famous event, according to Scott Fortner, the owner of one of the
world's greatest private collections of the late diva. Fortner shared images of the gown
before and after the 2022 Met Ball, taken from various perspectives and lighting. He illustrates
where some of the crystals are gone and how some were "left dangling by a thread" in one
zoomed-in view. He described the damage as "considerable." "From the bottom of the Met steps,
when Kim got into the dress, to the top, where it was returned, the garment was in the
exact condition it started in," a Ripley's representative said on Thursday.
