Pirates Trade Daniel Vogelbach to Mets
The Mets revealed on Friday that they had acquired infielder Daniel
Vogelbach from the Pittsburgh Pirates in exchange for pitcher
Colin Holderman. Holderman pitched in 15 games for the Mets this
season, going 4-0 with a 2.04 ERA. In 17.2 innings pitched, he struck out 18
times. The bulky Vogelbach, a left-handed batter who was a Seattle's
All-Star in 2019, was batting .228 with 12 home runs, 34 RBIs, and
a .769 OPS in 75 games for the struggling Pirates. He's already
had some success in the major leagues and will join our pitching staff at
this time because of that. Ben Cherington, GM of the Pirates, remarked.
